Comment on Planning Applications

The planning application process allows you to comment on an application, usually within a consultation period of three weeks. Please note all comments received will be available for public inspection and will be published on this website. Any person or organisation can make representations on any planning application: occupants of properties immediately affected by a planning application are informed by letter, and a notice of the proposal is displayed on site.

The Council can only consider comments on issues relevant to land use planning. Guidance on these issues is available from the City Offices of Winchester City Council during office hours and by clicking here.

Lawful Development Certificates

Please note that different rules apply if you wish to comment on an application with an 'LDC' or 'LDP' suffix. Please click here for full details.

Winchester City Council encourages on-line submission of comments. In return, you have the option to receive an automatic acknowledgement of your comments to be emailed to you.

To submit electronic comments:

  • Search for a planning application by one of the above methods
  • If the consultation period has not expired, select the 'Make Comment' button
  • Complete and submit your comment - requesting a pdf copy if required

It is important that you do not submit your comments by more than one method, but if you do not wish to use the form on this website you can post or email your comments quoting the application reference number and site address fully.
